The Pentax Optio S1 Digital Camera (Black) is a beautiful little image-making machine that has everything you need to take stunning photos and dazzling HD videos.

Start with the basics: a high-resolution 14MP CCD sensor and sharp 5x wide-angle 28-140mm (equivalent in 35mm format) optical zoom lens. With a 28mm point of view, you can shoot landscapes, buildings or groups of friends. At 140mm, the telephoto view is great for portraits, sports, wildlife or anything that's not quite close enough to you. With the 1280 x 720p HD video, you'll start shooting gorgeous mini-movies with sound that really capture the scene, and play it back on the bright 2.7" LCD monitor screen (it's also great for looking at your photos). The Shake Reduction system will make sure everything is sharp and clear, with no shaky, blurry photos.

The Optio S1 is perfect for pictures of friends and family--it has a fast Face Detection function that recognizes faces you shoot often and optimizes the settings for those important people. Smile Capture mode takes the picture when it sees a smile on the face you're photographing, and Blink Detection warns you if the person's eyes are closed in the photo. And you can even take pictures using infrared remote control, using an optional infrared remote controller. Best of all, the Optio S1's Auto Picture will take care of all the technical exposure details for a great photo every time--all you need to do is press the shutter button.
