Tough and smart? Yes, the Pentax Optio WG-1 GPS Digital Camera is
quite the catch. With numerous design features to keep it protected
against the elements and then some, this Optio is no sapling. Add to
that the GPS functionality, and this WG-1 GPS cam not only protects
itself, but it also knows where it is, at all times. GPS is great for
geo-tagging your photos - for archiving or sharing online. And the
waterproof, shockproof, crushproof, coldproof, and dustproof
capabilities ensure that it'll be around long after you drop it at the
beach.
Now, when it comes to the actual images, the WG-1 GPS won't
disappoint. This point-and-shoot captures 14Mp photos and 720/30p HD
video. Helping the camera do its duty would be a Pentax Zoom lens, 5x
optical zoom, digital image stabilization, a 1/2.3" CCD, and a
nicely sized 2.7" LCD. Another useful feature includes an HDMI
connection for direct transfer of video to your HDTV. In addition, the
camera also boasts a Digital Microscope mode for capturing macro images.
